In the next 30 years, a CHRO will be named CEO of a Fortune 500 company. 

 

The company that makes this decision could very well be Apple, Alphabet, Berkshire Hathaway, Ford, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America….take your pick. Your guess is as good as mine and conjecturing about the identity of this company is not the point of this thought exercise, anyway. Instead, let’s focus on this question: How?    

 

How did a Human Resources person become the Chief Executive Officer of (Fill in the Blank) Inc.?  

 

Right now, in 2018, the fundamental practice of the HR profession is changing.  The shifting nature and definition of work itself (see: gig economy, Uber, Millennial behaviors and attitudes) means that engaging workers has never been more difficult.  So what does the HR leader of the future do? The answer is simple and exciting: focus on performance!  

 

This session will focus on the 6 big shifts occurring in the global workplace and explain what they mean for the present and future of human resources professionals.  Together, we will reverse engineer how a Chief Human Resources Officer will be named Chief Executive Officer of a Fortune 500 company through Gallup’s research on the evolving nature of performance management and competitive business advantages to be gained through cutting edge employee engagement strategies. Lastly, we will focus on the front-line supervisor of the future, and how we can equip those leaders with the tools to create high performance teams. 

 

By attending this presentation, attendees will learn:

1.      The 6 major shifts happening in the global workplace

2.      The challenges facing organizations regarding their performance management practices

3.      Winning strategies and techniques that drive organizational performance though employee engagement based on decades of research from Gallup. 

 

The main point of this conversation is to inspire HR leaders to become even more ingrained in the strategic growth plans of their organizations using performance management and rigorous research. Attendees will walk away with 2-3 strategies to increase workplace productivity and contribute meaningfully to their bottom-line in a way their CFO will appreciate.  

 

Patrick Mieritz is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and leader of the Gallup Organization’s learning and development practice in North Carolina. As an organization, Gallup is the world’s leading research firm on the subject of reframing human capital strategy into a business growth strategy.    

In his role, Patrick teaches leaders how to use Gallup’s research to: select world class talent, implement Strengths based approaches to performance management, transform HR from an operations department into a profit center

Patrick personally is passionate about helping front-line managers transition into performance coaches and when he is not reading, writing or teaching, he’s planning a trip with his talented and beautiful wife, Lindsey.
